The Affenpinscher is a toy breed that is sweet and loyal with a gentle disposition. It is known for its intelligence and mild demeanor and most owners of this breed say they make great pets, although they are better will older children. Originating from Germany, the Affenpinscher is a terrier type of dog and has a wiry, shaggy coat. Most Affenpinschers grow to be about 7 or 8 pounds and are tough, playful and assertive.
