Afghan Hounds are beautiful, regal-looking dogs. They are well known for their exquisite long, silky hair and elongated, elegant necks. It is said that Afghans do best when they have lots of wide open spaces to run around and get at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. They are better with older children and although they are independent in nature, they love attention and play.
Raising Afghans can be a challenge, some say they are not the easiest to house train and their aloof nature makes them a bit more difficult to discipline.
