Friendly, outgoing and loving, the American Water Spaniel is a medium-sized dog that makes a great companion. It is eager to learn, easy to train and willing to please. What we learned about this curly-haired spaniel is that they are best treated gently and in a non-demanding manner, as they can be defensive if they feel threatened or that they are being treated harshly. They are great for kids, love to swim and are bred to hunt.
