Owners of the Anatolian Shepherd say they are very loyal and possessive, especially when it comes to family and property. Very intelligent and easy to train, but professionals say this is not a good dog for beginners. Training is best begun as early as possible, because a fully grown dog may be too strong and too big to be corrected and because this dog has his own ideas. The Anatolian Shepherd is patient and protective of children in his family, but be careful he/she does not accidentally knock them down, because of their large size.
