Australian Cattle Dog
The Australian Cattle Dog, just as its name suggests, is a member of the herding group. A strong and sturdy dog that weighs up to 35 lbs, this dog is loyal and obedient, yet can be leery of strangers and other dogs and is sometimes better off living in a home with just one or two adults. They have been known to nip at ankles in order to herd people.
All this being said, the Australian Cattle Dog makes an excellent guard dog and if trained from a very young age can make a great pet for the right person.
